Less-than-perfect credit

Our policy: what's best for you

Just like your credit is a history built over time, so is our relationship with you. For that reason, at Chase we train our loan officers to:

  • Always try to place customers in conforming loans — the class of loans with the best rates
  • Lead customers to a loan that is in the customer's ultimate best interest.

Few people have perfect credit

Your credit doesn't have to be perfect to purchase a home. Many people find themselves in difficult financial situations, often because of illness, divorce or temporary unemployment.

If you can demonstrate that the problem is in the past, and you have been able to re-establish a good track record for a sufficient amount of time, you may be in a good position to get a mortgage loan. Be sure to speak honestly and openly with your loan officer about the situation.

Keep in mind that lenders don't just look at your past history, but also at your ability and willingness to pay in the future. At Chase, we may be able to help you buy a home, even if you have less-than-perfect credit.
